Michelin Tractor Tyres last 7,000 hours

15 Jul , 2015

Aberdeenshire-based agricultural contractor and farmer D M Carnegie is selling on an eight-year-old tractor fitted with its original Michelin tyres which after 7,000 hours of operation, still have 20 per cent life left in the tread.

Purchased in October 2007 with Michelin XeoBib tyres fitted as original equipment, the New Holland T7030 tractor has now been replaced with a T7.235 fitted with an identical set of tyres which are expected to undertake the same intensive year-round tasks as the previous set – primarily drilling, grass mowing and bailing.

Company director David Carnegie, who fits Michelin tyres across his entire fleet including earthmovers, cars and trucks says: “Although you pay a little more upfront for Michelin tyres, they more than pay for themselves by staying on the tractor longer and are virtually puncture proof. As a result, I’ve run this T7030 from new, for eight years, and not had to replace a single tyre.”
