Martin Equipment slurry range is built to last

4 Nov, 2026

Founded in 2022, Martin Equipment has quickly established itself as a leading manufacturer of slurry equipment which is built to the highest quality.

The Smithboro, Co. Monaghan-based company has hit the ground running and was recently named ‘Best Agri / Agritech Business’ at the Monaghan Business & Tourism Awards. Fronted by Graeme Martin, Martin Equipment also exhibited a wide selection of its slurry range, including the recently-launched slurry tanker series, at Grass 2026 in Cuffesgrange, Co. Kilkenny where the feedback was extremely positive.

“We’re going from strength to strength,” enthuses Graeme who, at 34, is an old head on young shoulders.

“We manufacture high-quality agricultural machinery, specialising in slurry and manure handling equipment. Our six-strong workshop team is made up of welders, fabricators, assembling and design engineers. My background in agri contracting led me to designing and building equipment for my own use. I started with building a dribble bar and it took off from there.

“I still run the agri contracting business, which specialises in pit and baled silage and slurry spreading, in tandem with Martin Equipment. I wouldn’t be able to juggle the two without having good people around me.”

The affable managing director adds: “The manufacturing business has grown quicker than I could have ever imagined. We’ve built well over 500 units so far and are exporting to six different countries – Iceland, the UK, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway and Germany. We will shortly start exporting to Spain also and are looking into distributing through agri dealers in Ireland and the UK to meet the growing demand for our products. We’re getting lots of enquiries from both home and aboard.

“All of our team members have experience working with agri equipment, so when it comes to designing and manufacturing, they know what will work and what won’t work.”

At Grass 2026, Martin Equipment exhibited a 2,000-gallon slurry tanker fitted with a 7.5m dribble bar, a PTO compressor and a 12m twin-macerator umbilical dribble bar. It came on the back of the Co. Monaghan manufacturer launching its new rear-discharge dung spreader at the Spring Farm Machinery Show in Cavan.

“We started manufacturing slurry tankers about 18 months ago and have since sold in excess of 20 units, the largest being a 4,000-gallon tandem axle unit which was sold to a customer in the UK,” Graeme explains.

“There are seven / eight variations in our slurry tanker series, ranging from the smallest 1,350-gallon tanker up to the largest 4,000-gallon tandem axle. The range includes tankers which complement our Low Emission Slurry Spreading (LESS) applicators.”

All tankers are built using 6mm steel that is fully seam-welded inside and out, and supported by internal reinforcing baffles. The arches and chassis are made from 10mm steel. Meanwhile, the components are sourced from premium suppliers such as Kramp slurry parts, Genfitt agri parts, Battioni vacuum pumps, Distag axles, RIV gate valves, McHugh Components, RFL Steels, Micro Hydraulics and IFM hydraulic hoses.

“Only the best materials go into making our equipment. Everything we use is the best of the best. Every new tanker gets three coats of primer and three coats of paint to ensure a great finish. Our machines are built for durability, ease of use and safe slurry handling. Above all else, they are built to last.”

Martin Equipment has also introduced a new PTO air compressor range. These machines are available in either 300 cfm or 400 cfm outputs and feature an Italian sourced compressor unit, built on an in-house galvanised chassis.

The latest string to the award-winning company’s bow is the aforementioned rear-discharge dung spreader range. The model displayed at the Spring Farm Machinery Show was a 10t model which could be further increased to 12t when fitted with greedy boards. Features include a single floor chain and either manually or electric floor speed control. A smaller 6t model is also in the pipeline.

“We’re running the dung spreader that was exhibited at the Cavan Spring Machinery Show in our own contracting fleet and find it to be an excellent machine. We manufacture a wide range of slurry and manure handling equipment, including dribble bars, trailing shoes, compressors and reelers. Everything is covered.”

As Graeme looks forward to growing his successful business and expanding his product range in the coming years, he would like to take this opportunity to thank his customers and suppliers for their continued support as well as his top-class team for their hard work, dedication and expertise.
