Trailers for all occasions

11 Mar , 2016

The farming industry relies on a wide range of trailers to ensure that they can get through their daily duties with relative ease.

From cattle trailers to grain and silage trailers, there are an extensive collection needed, but not all are easily sourced.

However, one Northern Ireland based trailer manufacture is taking the market by storm with their quality products are competitive prices.

MCM Sheds Ltd was established in 2004 by owner David McMurray, who started of manufacturing farm buildings but was soon to find the opening in the market for his new brand of trailers, since then David opened a factory on his father’s farm.

Located in Dungiven, Co Derry, MCM provides a wide range of services and as well as agricultural trailer manufacturing, they are also continue to construct farm buildings and offer a turnkey service in this regard.

“We would manufacture all types of agricultural trailers like livestock, silage, dump, lowloader, pipe as well as slurry tankers,” said David.

“I established the business in 2004 and built a purpose built premise on my father’s land about seven years ago. When I first started, it was farm buildings that we were doing and we still to that today.

“We offer a turnkey service in that we will go from a green field site right until the shed is completed, so we do all the groundwork and shuttering as well as the steel work.”

David revealed that business was good and added that his range of trailers is now being sold all over the world and not just in Ireland and the UK.

“Our customer base has grown considerably over the years and we would have customers in places like Norway where we would actually sell about 30% of products annually.

“We expanded last year and invested a lot of money into the business. We cover all trailers in the agricultural sector and if a customer wants a particular type of trailer, we will work with them to give them what they want.”

David added that a number of agricultural dealers sell his products that have grown in popularity during the short time that the company has been established.

There is no doubting that Mcm is now a market leader in agricultural trailers and has sold trailers all over the world. “We pride ourselves in the quality and strength of our trailers and have a great after sales team who are there to help you every step of the way.”

MCM has an extensive range of used trailers for sale also. David acknowledges the fact that purchasing a trailer is expensive and taking trade ins helps ease the burden of the cost.

“There is a wide range of used trailers here. We would service them all before they are sold on. We try to help our customers in every possible way and if it helps them save a few pound, then we are willing to do whatever it takes.

“We have built up a loyal customer base over the years, but I know that we have to maintain the high standard that they are used too, so that is why we continue to strive to improve as much as we can.”

David admits that none of the success of the business would be possible without the help of his loyal staff, many of who have been with the company a number of years now.

“The employees are highly skilled in their field of expertise and it’s their work that is going out to the customers, so I’ve great trust in them.”

All trailers come with standard features such as Heavy Duty Construction, LED Lights, High Rock Multi-Leaf Suspension, Hand Brake, Braking on all Axles, Sprung Draw Bar, EN8 Draw Bar Eye, while optional extras include: Air/Hydraulic Brakes, Commercial Axles, Adjustable or Swivel Towing Eye, Jack Leg, Fail Safe Brakes, Single Tipping Ram, Floor Thickness Options, Hardox Steel, Hydraulic Tail Door, Loading Ramps, Tyre Options.

“The aim is to ensure that the customer is happy with what we give them. So all trailers are manufactured to the highest standard possible. That is why we have such a wide range of options available and if there is something extra that the customer may want, we will do our best to add that.”
