The number one New Holland dealer

26 May , 2017

The champagne corks were popping in the Bandon and Ballincollig premises of MC&S Agri Sales in March 2016 when it was announced that they had taken the top spot in New Holland’s ‘Tractor Dealer of the Year’ award for 2015.

The New Holland Dealer of the Year Awards are part of an ongoing programme to highlight the achievements of its dedicated dealers and MC&S Agri Sales ticked all of the boxes as far as the judging panel was concerned.

Their success reflects the hard work that has been invested by directors John McCarthy and Gordon Sullivan, not to mention their 12 employees, in the last six years.

“We commenced trading in January, 2010,” explained John McCarthy whose association with the New Holland brand stretches back almost 40 years. “I’ve been working with tractors since 1978 and there is not too many yards and customers in our locality that I don’t know!

“Myself and Gordon, who comes from a tillage and agricultural contracting background, joined forces to take on the New Holland franchise and it has been a case of so far so good. We set up originally in Ballincollig and opened up in Bandon three years ago.

“We were, naturally enough, very proud to have been honoured with the Dealer of the Year Award. We sold 36 new tractors in 2015. It’s a numbers game at the end of the day and you have to achieve your targets. The key for us was to back it up again in 2016 and we sold 40 new tractors last year.

“The award and our sales figures represent our employees’ commitment while the latest New Holland range has presented an opportunity to supply our clients with the highest quality machinery, which is always our main objective.”

That’s a sentiment that was echoed by New Holland UK and Ireland managing director, Andrew Watson, when the award winners were unveiled: “The broad reach of our network means that our customers are never more than 25 miles away from a New Holland Dealer. Our dealers range from small to large, with some relatively new, and some family-run businesses that are almost a century old.

“Our common objective regardless of size, location or age is to provide the best possible products to support the market and our valued customers.”

A globally recognised brand, New Holland’s agricultural range includes tractors, combine harvesters, balers, forage harvesters, self-propelled sprayers, haying tools, seeding equipment, hobby tractors, utility vehicles and implements, as well as grape harvesters.

If you need to replace something in your New Holland Machine then look no further than MC&S who stock a full range of original parts.

They also have an extensive range of classic tractor parts. In the event of them not having the part you need in stock, they can source it electronically from New Holland’s English and European parts network for next day delivery. They also offer a delivery service.

In addition, when it comes to servicing, Mc&S Agri promise to look after their customers New Holland machine as if it was their own.

They  have built up an excellent reputation for quality service. Jim O’Driscoll, their New Holland service technician, has over 16 years of experience in New Holland machines.

MC&S Agri offer on site servicing and repairs from their fully equipped service vehicles and a tractor and recovery service. Their workshop is equipped with an electronic dynamometer allowing them to closely monitor engine performance and PTO hp. They also provide full diagnostic and servicing facilities for air conditioning systems.

“Historically, New Holland has alway been one of the leading manufacturers in our area because of the connections going back to the days of Ford in Cork,” John remarked. “We have a lot of existing customers who are loyal to the brand while we are always attracting new customers.

“The products are very good and New Holland compares very favourably to any of it competitors when it comes to back-Just some of the stock of New Holland on displayup service and the availability of parts.”

Opened Monday to Friday (8.30am to 6pm) and Saturday (9am to 1pm), John and Gordon have plans in the pipeline to further develop their Bandon site. Prospective customers, meanwhile, are guaranteed a warm welcome when they enter either of their premises.

“We always take extra care to make sure our customers are completely satisfied,” added John. “If a customer comes in to us prepared to pay €100,000 on a tractor, the least we can do is offer them dedicated one to one service.

“2016 was a difficult year for the farming community. Most of our customers are from west Cork and are dairy men. The price of milk has stabled so hopefully we will see a pick up in the future. We’re here for the long haul and intend to develop and invest in the business going forward.”
