Based in the Golden Vale of Tipperary, Murphy Agri Products is a one-stop shop for all your agricultural needs. The family-run business prides itself on its extensive range of farm machinery, product knowledge and customer service.
Representing leading agri brands such as Kuhn, Broughan Engineering and Keltec, Murphy Agri Products has gone from strength to strength since it was founded by James Murphy in 2008. A mechanic by trade, James runs the business from a purpose-built premises on his family’s beef and tillage farm near Cahir, which is just a five-minute drive from Junction 11 on the M8. James is joined by his wife Anna, Anthony in stores and Fergal and Jamie in the workshop.
Murphy Agri Products specialises in tractor and machinery sales, and is also a supplier of all spares and parts. The company is committed to offering a professional and high-quality service to meet the growing requirements of its customers along with knowledge and understanding of the industry that will ultimately benefit them.
“We are passionate about our brands and strive to show this in our dedicated sales and service team. We place a strong emphasis on customer service,” James says.
“We pride ourselves on our exceptional, friendly, flexible and value-for-money service. Coming from a farming and mechanical background, I have a wealth of knowledge and experience in the sector which has stood us in good stead. From humble beginnings, we have built up a large and loyal client-base through word of mouth and our website. Our customers are mostly people who are involved in dairying, tillage, agri contracting and plant hire.”
Murphy Agri Products has developed into a business that can meet every need of its clients. As well as being a main dealer for Kuhn, Broughan Engineering, Keltec, Conor, Quicke and APV, the company can source and supply all machinery parts. A comprehensive range of quality used machinery is stocked at all times, while Murphy Agri Products has an excellent reputation for sourcing high-quality used tractors.
“We listen to our customers’ needs and desires before sourcing the right tractor for them. We bring in a sizeable number of New Holland, Massey Ferguson and John Deere tractors from the UK and Europe for our customers every year. Anything we sell we service,” James continues.
“In addition, we carry a huge selection of parts in our store and are in the process of developing a new online store. Our opening hours are 8am-6pm Monday to Friday and 8am-1pm on Saturdays, but as a family-run business, we’re always at the end of the phone. We also provide extended opening hours during the harvest season.”
James explains how the business has evolved from carrying out tractor and machinery repairs for local farmers to becoming agents for some of the industry’s most recognisable brands.
“We started off doing repairs before branching into parts and then machinery sales,” he recalls.
“Keltec was the first dealership we took on. That was followed by Conor, Broughan and Kuhn in that order. We’re delighted with the agencies we have now. We’re selling a lot of Kuhn and Broughan stuff at the moment and enjoy a great rapport with all of the brands we represent.”
As a leader in farm machinery, Kuhn wants to offer farmers the best products, every day and right around the world. The Kuhn Group offers a wide choice of agricultural machinery to meet every farmer’s requirements. Whether you’re a farmer or a dealer, you will find the best equipment to satisfy your needs – ploughs with two to 12 bodies, tools for soil preparation and a wide range of seed drilling equipment. Kuhn’s in-line and single-seed drills adapt to all types of seeding operations and their combination seed drills complete the range perfectly.

The brand’s new products for feeding and bedding animals and for landscape maintenance will also satisfy the most demanding professionals.
Broughan Engineering manufactures a range of trailers from grain / silage, bale, cattle, dumper to low loader and bespoke trailers. The Co. Carlow-based company designs, engineers and manufactures a full range of high-quality, bespoke agricultural trailers.
Conor Engineering has been at the forefront of quality manufactured farm machinery such as slurry tankers and diet feeders since 1969. The Co. Clare brand has earned a reputation in the agricultural industry for producing strong, reliable and durable products.
Keltec provides a wide range of design, development and manufacturing services – from concept development to volume manufacture. Since 1988, Keltec has diversified from agricultural-based products into products for the construction, water treatment and horticultural industries. The company’s ability to develop new products that benefit clients in terms of increased productivity and significant cost savings has established it as a unique engineering company in Ireland. Keltec’s best-known agri products include bale handlers, bale trailers, sheargrabs and bale slicers.
Quicke’s front loaders are built to maximise your comfort, save time, optimise productivity and increase your safety. Even more so as the brand focuses strongly on fully-integrated smart technology to help make farming more efficient. Completing the Murphy Agri Products line-up is the Austrian-brand APV which is a leading manufacturer of disc spreaders and pneumatic sowing machines.
James would like to take this opportunity to thank his customers and suppliers for their continued support.
