Quigley’s Garage – a Claas act

9 May , 2016

Quigley’s Garage are proud to be the west of Ireland’s main Claas dealers. With a full range available and more being added all the time, they can help you with your investment.

Situated in Ahascragh, close to Ballinasloe, Quigley’s Garage was founded by Padraic Quigley and his wife Bernadette in 2001. They started out life by selling second hand tractors before the opportunity arose to acquire the Claas franchise in 2006. It’s fair to say that hey haven’t looked back since.

In a very short time, Claas has become established as a leading tractor manufacturer throughout Europe, offering a choice of 34 models between 72 and 524 hp: the Xerion 4×4 high-horsepower tractors, the Axion, Arion and Axos standard tractors, the compact Elios class and the Nexosmodels in the narrow gauge range.

This extensive and impressive portfolio is specifically designed to meet the needs of modern agriculture. Enormous pulling power, ease of operation and wealth of intelligent systems are all characteristics of a Claas tractor.

To compliment their main Claas dealership, Quigley’s also supply a range of carefully selected products to cater for all agricultural requirements. They stock a wide range of quality products from world leading manufacturers such as Teagle, Hi Spec, Sulky, NC, Hardi, Bomford, Strautmann and Erth to allow unrivalled choice.

“The acquisition of the Claas dealership turned the business around completely,” recalled Padraic in conversation with Irish Tractor & Agri magazine.

“Claas is a flagship brand which is synonymous with quality and reliability and it has proven to be very popular with our customers. We are the Claas main dealers for Galway, Mayo, Roscommon and Sligo. The first few years were tough but there has been a big upsurge in interest the last three to four years. People are coming to us with their enquires.”

Born and bred on the family farm in Mountbellew, Padraic and his brother Seamus, the company’s Sales Manager, both possess an in depth knowledge of the range of products which the company offers and they are always keen to offer helpful advice to existing and potential customers.

They always strive to ensure that the needs and expectations of their customers are met at all times and rely on an experienced staff which totals 12. To that end, they are very fortunate that some members of their staff have been with the company for many years. Their friendly team are fully trained up and endeavour to help customers with any queries they may have relating to a new purchase or the maintenance of existing equipment.

“When we started out we had just two employees on the payroll. We consider ourselves very lucky that, with the exception of apprentices, all of our employees are long serving members of staff with invaluable experience. All our workers are local too.

“It also helps big time that myself and Seamus come from a farming background. We’re on the ground talking to farmers and we know the troubles they are up against. We have three service vehicles on the road and also a recovery truck for pick up of tractors and machinery. We cover all Ireland for deliveries and collection.”

Open Monday to Saturday (9am to 6pm), Quigley’s offer a fast and competitive sales service, tailored precisely to their customers needs, with 14 years of satisfied customers to prove it.

Their machinery section has expanded widely from ploughs, harrows, subsoilers, grabs manure shakers, mowers, tedders and lots of others
When you most need your machine, they will be there to offer their highest standard of service because with their after-sales support, it’s not just about supplying a filter or doing an oil change, it’s about providing the best solution to their customers needs wrapped up with industry leading parts and service support.

And not content to rest on their laurels, Padraic revealed that they are currently in the process of applying for planning permission for a brand new workshop.

The importance of reputation can’t be over-estimated in the tractor sales market and Padraic identified the loyal customer support they receive from the local farming community as a vital ingredient in their winning formula.

“Business is going very well for us at the moment, so far it has been a good year for sales. Claas finance is a massive help. They’re on the ball when it comes to setting up payment methods with farmers and contractors which suit their needs.

“We pride ourselves on our good customer service and the business’ image. The challenge is to keep that good name and the service we provide right because if that dips, sales will dip.”
