O’Sullivan Roche (OSR) fights theft by bringing the Cesar Scheme to Ireland

26 Apr , 2018

O.S.R, which was founded in response to the massive increase of agricultural equipment theft here in Ireland, is delighted to add the CESAR Security Scheme to their growing list of security products.

Over the last four years the Irish company has established both BikeTrac and ATVTrac as market leaders in asset tracking in Ireland and as a result is now able to offer the proven CESAR (Construction/Agricultural Equipment, Security And Registration) Scheme, with it’s proven Datatag technologies, to farmers and land owners who wish to add another layer of protection to their assets.

Ger O’Sullivan, O.S.R managing director, stated; “Everyone at O.S.R is delighted to be offering such a comprehensive and proven marking system in the CESAR Scheme to our loyal customers in Ireland. We feel that security companies have largely neglected the farm and construction industries here for years. This has put a massive burden on farmers and contractors alike due to increased theft. We feel that the CESAR Scheme, which uses proven Datatag state of the art identification technologies, is the most cost efficient and the most effective theft deterrent available on the market. Positive results from the scheme in the UK bear this out.’

O.S.R is committed to reducing theft and as importantly increasing the recovery rate of stolen assets, which, unfortunately, has historically been very low. The importance of marking and registering machines so that they can be easily identified once recovered has never been more important.

The CESAR Scheme is fully supported in Ireland by The ICSA (Irish Cattle and Sheep Farmers Association). The ICSA were the authors of the first survey in Ireland, which concentrated solely on agricultural crime in conjunction with Waterford Institute of Technology. The survey concluded that a staggering 41% of farmers had experienced theft in the previous 24 months and that almost half was theft of machinery and vehicles with an overall value of nearly one million Euro.

ICSA Rural Crime Development Chairman Seamus Sherlock said; “ICSA are pleased to be working with the CESAR Scheme in Ireland and see it as an important tool in the ongoing fight against rural crime. Rural communities need to utilize the most modern technology to protect their property and I think the CESAR Scheme offers the ideal cost effective solution”

In recognition of the positive affect that the CESAR Scheme will have on theft in Ireland all ICSA members will now benefit from a 10% discount off CESAR products.

The CESAR scheme’s benefits are also being recognized by those representing the local farming community. Politicians have added their weight to the argument for a cohesive effort in stopping theft. Michael Healy-Rae T.D said recently; “Considering the high purchase cost of machinery and the subsequent heavy insurance premiums in Ireland overall, I would consider the CESAR Scheme to be the most comprehensive and cost effective safeguard available in a time where unfortunately farm and plant machinery theft is very high in Ireland”

OSR are now the only official supplier and fitter of the new CESAR Scheme here in Ireland. To find out more contact Ger on (086) 8956614 or [email protected]
