With Herbst Software, you can now integrate cameras in to their business management system to help businesses better manage their stock movements, traceability and assist in dispute resolution. In the latest release of their Insight platform, the Wicklow software company announces that live cameras with time and data stamped footage will be linked to things like stock management, weighbridge transactions and vehicle movements.

1. On the toolbar of any authorised user, an option is available for selected cameras to be visible live on the screen whilst working on other tasks simultaneously. This allows a user to monitor and keep track of video activity at any time, if and when required.

2. Key documentation such as production documents, orders delivery documents etc. have a date and time security stamp, and when required, the video of the production or snapshot can be recalled at the user’s discretion.

3. Snapshots of video footage can also be automatically be attached to weigh documents, collection docs etc. and replace or add to   the receipt signature and printed on the document forms if needed.

Customers of Herbst Software may already have cameras installed at key locations around their business, typically beside warehouse entrances, or near production facilities and hardware stores. Images from these cameras can be monitored and automatically inserted in to invoices, or sent to partnering companies that may require this information. This doesn’t require any user intervention, minimal effort, and can make use of existing CCTV cameras if available.

In recent tests with several small-medium scale businesses, companies have used the cameras to eliminate disputes and provide better information to customers and clients.  “From listening to our customers, a common theme that came across is the requirement for better visual data” says CEO Michael Herbst.  “Disputes over weighbridge issues, and traceability have been a consistent problem for many of our customers. We invested in addressing these needs and now users can plug cameras directly in to our system – which is a global first in this area.”

“So far, customers have proven they have increased transparency and can better communicate traceability with clients. We are just at the tip of the iceberg, we expect other uses will become apparent across many other industries over the coming years – it’s a very exciting time for this area” concluded Mr. Herbst.

Herbst Software is based in Wicklow Town and has been in business since 1980, they have created this new feature in coordination with Evercam, a camera IT Solutions Company.
