They say experience is key to running a successful business, well if that’s the case EMC Agri Ltd are without a shadow of doubt the leaders in their field of expertise.

Established in 1919, EMC Agri Ltd will celebrate 100 years in business next year and what a milestone for any company to achieve.

Headquartered in Enniscorthy, Co Wexford and with a new branch due to be  opened in Cillin Hill Business and Retail Park, Kilkenny City, EMC provide a loyal and efficient service to the farming community in Wexford, Kilkenny, Carlow and surrounding counties.

EMC have been the official main dealers of New Holland tractors and machinery since 1919, so if you want to know anything about this make then the team at EMC are the guys to talk too.

From Fordson, to Ford to the early years of New Holland right the way through to today’s current Tier 4B New Holland tractors they have seen 99 years of innovation unfold in front of them.

The opening of the new premises in Kilkenny will enhance the catchment area that they service.

Following the merger of Ford New Holland and Fiat in 1992, the New Holland brand came into existence and EMC Agri Ltd was one of the first dealers in the British Isles to be chosen to represent New Holland in their area. Their partnership with a world leader in the production and sale of agricultural machinery has blossomed ever since.

The New Holland tractor has gained in popularity and people are beginning to realise that now. It’s reliable while the cost of repairs and service are relatively low. As regards fuel efficiency there are few better and that, of course, is a big consideration for farmers.

EMC Agri supply New Holland tractors and Kuhn farm machinery. Sales for new and second hand are very good at the moment and there has been a pick-up in business over the past couple of years.

That pick-up is the reason why the second branch will open in Kilkenny. It will see the firm cover all of Wexford, Kilkenny and Carlow now as well as the surrounding counties.

EMC Agri have built up their customer base over the years with much of their business being made up of repeat custom.

Once farmers try out a New Holland, they generally stick with them. Plus, the service EMC Agri provide ensures that they are well looked after even after the sale is made, which is very important.

From their premises in Enniscorthy, EMC also provide an extensive range of parts to ensure that there is no delay in getting those repairs done.

A lot of their customers would be agricultural contractors and when they are busy, they don’t want to be hanging around waiting for parts if they suffer any breakdowns, so EMC Agri stock an extensive range of parts, probably a few thousand at least to ensure they won’t be kept waiting. In the event that they mightn’t have the part, they can get it here within 24hrs.

The staff at EMC are very experienced and their knowledge of New Holland and Kuhn is second to none. They are there to deal with any enquiries that a customer may have.

There are ten employed in Enniscorthy and one of the guys is there 40 years, while others have many years’ experience behind them, so if there is a query, there’s a strong chance they will be able to answer it no problem. Even when someone comes in looking at a tractor, they can usually tell them which model would suit them best.

The staff make any business and EMC Agri have a very hard-working and experienced team.

EMC’s state of the art workshop allows them to carry out service and repair work for clients and is always a hub of activity.

There are three full time mechanics there, all of whom are trained up on New Holland and that gives EMC a head start when it comes to repairs and service and troubleshooting potential problems.

The start of the year is usually their busy period for sales. Farmers usually like to get their business done early in the year as during the summer they are busy with silage, baling, etc.

EMC Agri strongly believe that New Holland produce one of the best tractors out there.

They are also proud agents for Kuhn, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of agricultural machinery. Kuhn cover a very wide range of machinery, from silage and hay making equipment to both farmers and contractors.

As well as New Holland and Kuhn they also provide the full range of Ifor Williams Trailers. Manufactured in Wales, Ifor Williams are widely known across the world for their strong and durable trailers of all sizes.
