A premier mobile tyre service

18 May , 2016

Celebrating 10 years in business, Tullyallen Mobile Tyres provide a Louth mobile tyres service and are available to supply new tyres, part worn tyres for all types of vehicles in Tullyallen and surrounding areas. We spoke to MD George O’Brien to find out more.

“If this year is anything to go by, I’d hope to have the same again in 2016,” buzzed George O’Brien about the last 12 months at Tullyallen Mobile Tyres.

Being as busy as he has been recently is never a bad complaint to have, but no one knows better than George himself how hard he has worked for it.

Since finding his company in 2005, George has been on the road ever since, repairing tyres all throughout the midland counties and their surrounding areas, which, as one can imagine, can be a demanding task for a one-man operation.

Tullyallen Mobile Tyres has made it work through and their reputation for providing a fast and efficient service is a glowing one, which sees the same customers coming back to its owner and founder time and time again.

“We’re based in Tullyallen, Drogheda and I would have started the business in 2005 – it’s just me working here,” explained George.

“Basically what I do is when someone gets a puncture or whatever; I come along there and then and fix it for you. We can vulcanise tyres here and we do anything from a tractor to a wheelbarrow.”

Fixing a wide range of tyres, along with providing a reliable service, goes a long way in George’s chosen line of work. It’s the reason why his company will be moving into its 11th year in 2016 and he’s excited about what the future holds.

With state of the art equipment and a quality customer service, Tullyallen Mobile Tyres are providing a consistent level of top class service to Agricultural, Commercial and Private Sectors.

Operating since ‘05, Tullyallen Mobile tyres have the experience to provide mobile tyres services for the Agricultural Commercial and Private Sector, services include new tyres, part worn tyres, discount tyres, flat wheel repair, tyres for cars tyres , van tyres, tractor tyres, truck, lorry, forklift tyres for all types of vehicles.

Emergency puncture repairs are a speciality of the Drogheda-based mobile tyre company and they provide a 24-hour puncture repair tyre service for agricultural, private and commercial customers.

George’s background in tyre repairs stretches back to the days of when he was a young teenager and after a few years he started to realise there was a gap in the market for the unique service in which he now provides.

“I started fitting tyres when I was 13 years old in a garage in Drogheda and I also worked in a garage in Dunleek,” said George.

“So I noticed then that there were only a handful of people doing the kind of work that I’m into now. What I’m doing now is a 24-hour service, seven days a week and three years ago Christmas morning was one of my busiest days. That’s the demand.”

Nowadays Tullyallen Mobile Tyres provides a 24-hour puncture repair and breakdown service that can come to you when and wherever needed. This includes places such as at your work, home, at the side of the road or the M1 motorway, providing you with a fast, quality, professional and a great value emergency tyre puncture repair service.

Emergency tyre repair services provided by Tullyallen Mobile Tyres include puncture repair, M1 motorway puncture emergencies, flat wheel repair, breakdown repairs, flat wheel repairs, alloy wheel repair, slow puncture repair and many more tyre emergency repairs.

Summer 2015 was a busy one for George, who was kept on the road nearly seven days a week once the silage cutting was in full flow.

“This past summer would have been very busy from when the first blade of grass was cut up until October nearly,” he said.

“During a busy day in the summer, I could get eight call outs between four or five different counties. That would be a typical busy day for me and you can have a fairly hectic schedule once the cutting starts.”

With a 24 hour call out tyre service catering for the agricultural sector and using highly equipped mobile tyre equipment, Tullyallen Mobile Tyres are qualified to fix any agriculture tyre emergency you may have.

Available for any Agriculture tyre emergency, no emergency is too small for George’s company and at very competitive rates.

Tullyallen Mobile Tyres Agriculture Tyre Services include, tractor tyre repair, new tractor tyres, 4×4 tyre replacement agriculture machinery tyre repairs and many more.

It’s only now (November) that he finds the time to get some work one the administration end up to date.

“This is the only time of year that I’ve been able to get paper work done,” he said. “There aren’t a lot of people doing this the way I do. I’ve seen lads get into this line of work then forget how hard the work actually is.”

Apart from the agricultural side, industrial work keeps George busy as well. He provide a complete industrial tyre service throughout Co Louth and uses top of the range on-site fitting equipment, while also being able to carry out all types of tyre maintenance.

Tullyallen Mobile Tyres service provide industrial tyres and fitting service for all types of Industrial vehicles including forklifts, trucks, counterbalance trucks, warehouse reach trucks and many more.

The fleet George operates with includes two Ford Transits and a 4×4, while he carries almost every brand of tyre you can name.

“We do every tyre here – from Michelin tyres to the cheapest kind of tyre you can get,” he stated.

“We have been getting our tyres off Agri Gear in Cavan since 2005 and they’re very good to deal with.”

As for customers that have been with him from the beginning, George continued: “The likes of Thomas Delaney Agri Contractors and the Drogheda Council would be with me from when I started nearly, so it’s great to keep their business.

“I think they choose Tullyallen Mobile Tyres first because of the quality service that’s provided and the manner in which it’s provided in.”

It’s hard to argue with George there.

As for 2016, he is hoping for and looking forward to another busy 12 months, with the possibility of taking on some staff if it gets any busier.

“Hopefully that will be down the line sometime – maybe even next year! So we can have two vans on the road full-time and that then will be able to see us take on twice the work load,” he said.

“That’s the way it’s heading anyway and I suppose it isn’t a bad complaint to have in the times that are in it.”

Not at all, George.
