A name you can trust

At JP Murphy Bros they have been erecting agricultural buildings and other steel buildings since 1998. A friendly, family-run company, they pride themselves on their great customer relationships.

JP Murphy Bros Ltd is the south east’s leading design and build contractors for the Agricultural sector. With years of practical experience in farming and building, MD John Murphy and his team can advise and assist you in designing quality buildings to meet your farming needs.

They recognise that everyones’ requirements are different so they believe in working with the customer from planning through to erection of the building so that expectations are fulfilled.

“We sit down with the farmer to assist them in deciding on the best option for their individual needs in terms of design of build, ventilation and door options,” John explained to Irish Tractor.

Having been reared on a 100 acre tillage farm in his native Ballyhogue, Enniscorthy, Co Wexford, John set up the company in 1998 after gaining many years experience fabricating farm and industrial buildings through his previous employment.

Initially, he operated as sole trader but expanded 17 years ago in an effort to satisfy increasing customer numbers. His brother Patrick (on-site manager) came on board shortly after and together they have overseen the number of employees on their payroll grow from four to 12.

No matter the requirements, their experience, knowledge and training ensures they can always provide their customers with a build they will be proud of for many years to come.

“We specialise in the erection of steel structures and cladding for the farm, industrial and commercial markets, mainly in the south-east,” John added.
Their services are much in demand and, at the time of speaking to John, the ever-burgeoning company had no less than 15 jobs on the go, including Wexford GAA’s Centre of Excellence in nearby Ferns.

If it’s lean-to agricultural buildings, large A-roof agricultural buildings or portal frame buildings you are looking for, look no further than JP Murphy’s.

Fully insured and certified, and compliant with all health and safety requirements, their CV includes grain stores, manufacturing premises, vehicle testing centres, mass storage buildings, machinery storage and maintenance, vegetable storage, equine arenas, equine stables, live stock buildings and office  buildings.

As the business grew, they also found that customers wanted a reliable supply of certain materials for occasional DIY projects and such like. And so to meet this need, they now supply the following items to the general public: kit shed buildings, steel – all types, timbers, cladding, roofing and clear lights, fixings, guttering and accessories and sliding door parts

“We’re well established and growing to the stage where we’re happy enough with. We’re very busy at the moment and that is following on from 2014. Last year we carried out a lot of farm related projects as farmers spent money on milking parlours and cubic units to cater for expanding their dairy herds. We also erected a number of grain stores for merchants. Luckily we’ve never been slack or idle.”

So what is it that separates JP Murphy Bros from their competitors? No stone is left unturned to ensure every project, no matter how big or small, gets just as much attention and appreciation as those before and after. Many of their customers are long term who have come to them time and time again.

“You are always only as good as your last job. We offer quality and good value for money. They’re the two key points when you are tendering for any jobs. We are fortunate to have a lot of repeat customers so they are obviously happy with our workmanship and the competitive price we offer.”

The same business philosophy applies to JP Murphy Bros’ sister company Advance Roller Door system.  Established in 2003, since then Advance Roller Door systems have evolved into the leading supplier of roller shutter and garage doors in the south-east and pride themselves on the quality of their after-sales service.

You don’t have to take John’s word for it. Here’s what successful Wexford-based racehorse trainer Paul Nolan had to say on his experience of doing business with JP Murphy: “I have been dealing with JP Murphy Bros for over 10 years and I have found their work to be of a very high standard. They are very helpful and competitive with their prices.”

Local farmer Rory Stafford was another satisfied customer: “I found John and all the lads easy to deal with. There was absolutely no waste of time or delay in the building of the shed. They were efficient and the building turned out perfect.”

Give John or Patrick a call or drop into their premises in Ballyhogue and they will happily chat to you about your requirements.
