An agri service with a difference

11 Feb , 2026

Boherash Agri Services Ltd is a multi-faceted agricultural services provider based in Glanworth, Co. Cork and serving the Munster region.

“We’re not your typical agri contractor,” says Ollie Clifford, who runs the business along with his brother Jack.

A quick look at the list of services offered confirms as much. They encompass everything from tractor hire to local contractors as required, 24-hour mobile hydraulic hose repair and JFC Evolution Automatic Calf Feeder installation and servicing to engineering / fitting, automatic scraper servicing, precision fertiliser spreading and tractor and dump hire.

“We’re more subcontractors than anything. We cater for agri contractors in our area and provide a range of other services as well. There aren’t too many other businesses like us out there,” the affable Cork man adds.

What also makes Ollie and Jack different to most other contractors is the fact that they don’t come from a farming background.

“Our dad is a postman and our mam’s a teacher, so we had no farm or land. We started with nothing,” he explains.

“I was doing relief milking and Jack was a milking parlour technician with Dairymaster. Four years ago, we decided to come together and set up Boherash Agri Services, which takes its name from our local townland. It became a limited company this year. We bought a John Deere 7530, which we still have, and started off working for AG Ross Agri in Mallow pulling mowers, rakes and so on.

“That got us going and we haven’t looked back since. We still work for AG Ross and other agri contractors in the area. After about a year, we began offering a 24-hour mobile hydraulic hose repair service for which there is a strong demand among customers who are involved in agri, drainage and plant hire. Jack looks after the hosing end of things and I do the driving.

“We’ve since expanded our services to include tractor and dumper hire, automatic scraper and cubicle servicing, precision fertiliser spreading and JFC Evolution Automatic Calf Feeder installation and servicing. We partnered with JFC Agri last year and have since fitted and serviced automatic calf feeders for them all over Munster. We have a busy winter and spring ahead of us and would love to become a sales agent for them in the future as well.”

Trusted by farmers across Ireland and beyond, JFC Agri offers innovative agricultural solutions for modern farming, from calf feeding systems to livestock equipment. The JFC automatic calf feeding systems installed and serviced by Boherash Agri are the Evolution S2 and Evolution S4.

The Evolution S2 is an ideal solution for small-to-medium sized herds, allowing farmers to reduce the time and labour required for rearing up to 70 calves. It uses advanced technology to mix and dispense calf milk replacer based on each calf’s individual needs. The S2 features an integrated touch screen that allows farmers to set up and adjust feeding programs quickly and easily. It also includes a 40kg hopper. Each calf’s feed performance is consistently monitored on a user-friendly, seven-inch touch screen display and for ultimate convenience. This information is also available anytime, anywhere online or on the Evolution App.

The Evolution S4 can reduce the labour hours required for rearing up to 140 calves by as much as 60%. This allows the user to focus their attention on the other important tasks around the farm. It has a dual hopper system with a 30kg capacity in each hopper and dual mixing bowl, enabling it to dispense two different types of calf milk replacers.

Calves are easily registered on the Control Unit using RFID technology and assigned to a predefined feed curve relative to their nutritional needs and your rearing objectives. Individual feeds are automatically dispensed and the system ensures no calf exceeds their allocated amount. As with the Evolution S2, each calf’s feed performance is consistently monitored on a user-friendly, 7-inch touch screen display and for ultimate convenience, this information is also available anytime, anywhere online or on the Evolution App.

As their service offering has grown, so too has the brothers’ machinery and plant. In 2023, they purchased a new Broughan 20ft dump trailer from McCarthy Plant & Agri Sales for site clearance and septic tank works on behalf of Clearwide Environmental. Ollie and Jack have also invested in two new Krone and Malone six-rotor tedders for tedding silage, hay and straw as well as a new Bogballe telescopic fertiliser spreader. They will also take delivery of a new MAN van early in the New Year.

As Boherash Agri Services continues to go from strength to strength, the family business would like to take this opportunity to thank its customers and suppliers for their unwavering support.

“We have built up a very loyal customer-base over the last four years. We’re committed to providing a top-class service and complete satisfaction to all our customers. We’ll always go the extra mile for them,” Ollie concludes.
