“They represent great value-for-money compared to new tractors. Most of the tractors we source have only 500-600 hours on them, but we can supply any tractor to suit any budget or requirement. We deal with New Holland, Massey, Case and John Deere because they are the leading brands. We also source the odd excavator for our construction clients.

As well as used tractors, Daly’s Garage supplies a wide range of new and used agricultural equipment and parts. The family-run business is a main dealer for Major vacuum tankers, Quicke front loaders, Rossmore front loaders, Nugent trailers and transport boxes, and Vector Powerdrive fence post drivers. In addition, Daly’s Garage has been supplying Maxol oils and lubricants since its inception and stocks everything from slurry fittings and tractor touch-up paints to PTO parts and bearings.

Daly’s Garage also leads the way when it comes to service and repairs. Both Billy and his son Liam are qualified tractor mechanics and between them, they provide a complete range of proactive and reactive solutions to ensure that downtime is kept to an absolute minimum and farm machinery owners can get back to work as quickly and safely as possible.
“Liam is a Case and New Holland mechanic who is well-versed with the latest tractors and technology. He runs the workshop for us.”
Billy, whose wife Julieann is also involved in the business, served his time as a mechanic with Kanturk Motor Works (Case International and Vauxhall dealers) and Lucey’s (David Brown dealers) in Millstreet before founding Daly’s Garage 44 years ago.
“It was all repairs in the early days before I started bringing in tractors from the UK. At this stage, I know the motorways of England better than the Irish ones! I’ve forged strong relationships with many reputable dealers in the UK. I have a network of contacts who I can call on if I need a particular machine. I only deal with exceptional clean and tidy stuff with low hours on the clock.
“The customer comes first with us and we’re always available to deal with their queries. We listen to their needs and desires before sourcing the right tractor for them. We have something for everyone. That’s one of the reasons why we get a lot of repeat business.”
He adds: “We have been an agent for Major since 1985 and have been dealing with Rossmore for just as long. We sell a good few Major vacuum tanks with trailing shoes, for which there is a grant available to farmers.”
