The company was originally set up in 1901 in Dublin, selling hardware and agricultural supplies. J.H. Donnelly moved from Blackhall Place to Summerhill in 2001. It is a third generation-run business, with Gary Hanan as the current owner and director. They are proud distributors of Portotecnica range of pressure washers for over 30 years and also manufacture the well-known and highly regarded Hawk PTO washers throughout Ireland. The PTO washer is one of the most popular on the Irish market and they recently launched the new 4000 PSI version.
In addition, J.H. Donnelly stock and supply Horizont Electric Fencing and Animal Health supplies as well as Moldex face masks.
“Manufactured in Germany, we’ve been the sole importer of Horizont fencing into Ireland since 2008”, Gary Hanan revealed.
Included in their product range is Nightsearcher lamps, McAlpine Plumbing Products, Deva taps, Delonghi radiators, Lakes Shower doors, chimney cowls and car valeting products.
J.H. Donnelly has expanded their existing warehousing to facilitate their substantial product range. As part of this expansion they have included a new state of the art workshop to support their customer service department.
“We deal directly with the trade. We have four sales reps out on the road, covering the 32 counties. We take orders from merchants, and dispatch them from our warehouse.”
J.H. Donnelly take great pride in the level of repeat business they have acquired down through the years, through positive word of mouth and client referral.
They understand the importance of a flexible and reliable service and work closely with each of their customers to provide a personal service to farmers.
“Customer service is vitally important to us,” he explained. “At the end of the day, we sell the product, so we have a responsibility to stand over it. If there’s a problem, we’ll rectify it. We provide a full after sales back-up and stock an extensive range of spare parts if required.”
That being said, J.H. Donnelly customers can be assured that problems with the products are few and far between.
“Our niche in the market is that we sell quality products only,” Gary stated.
“We want repeat business so it is important that our customers have confidence in us and the products we supply.”
