“Myself and Joe set up the fencing business back 1990,” outlined Michael in conversation with Irish Tractor & Agri magazine. “I had worked with a local fencing contractor, Ben Colchester, for five years prior to that. Ben packed it in so we then set up with my brother’s farm yard as our base. In 1997 we them moved into our purpose built premises complete with workshop and yard area.”

“We started exporting initially to the UK in 1996,” Michael added. “We’re currently working on an order for a batch of machines from Sweden. We have a lot of Irish customers to sort out as well. They are people out there who are looking at renewing their machines now which they weren’t doing during the recession.
“The fencing end of the business is very busy too as there are a lot of road projects going on and a big demand for agricultural fencing.”

“We’re trying to develop the manufacturing end of the business more, get into more countries in the export end of things and reach our growth potential,” he concluded.
