David Parker of Wexford company Parker Dairy Services is proud of his long association with ‘Irish success story’ Dairymaster. He talked us through the products and services he supplies to his loyal customer base in the south east of the country.
Dairymaster is renowned as a world leader in dairy equipment manufacturing and has reached this position in the market because they offer their customers significant performance advantages due to their emphasis on research and development.
Dairymaster has a wide innovative product range including milking equipment, automatic scrapers, automatic feeders, milk cooling tanks, heat detection systems plus much more!
The continued growth of the Dairymaster brand worldwide and the increased demand for Dairymaster equipment is due to its popularity with farmers all over the world, who value the high performance capabilities of the equipment and its innovative features.
Over the past five decades, Dairymaster has researched all aspects of dairy farming and dairy herd management from its own in-house R&D department and has developed unique technologically advanced solutions aimed at making dairy farming more profitable by reducing long term costs and labour inputs.
They vigorously test their products through scientific trials in order to achieve peak performance capabilities.
Dairymaster products operate effectively on farms with cow numbers ranging from 40 cows to 10,000 cows, this is due to the modular format of their products.
Many of the products operate effectively as stand alone products however most are capable of being upgraded and integrated into a fully computerised milking parlour with the capability of automatically monitoring the progress of each individual animals yield and the overall management of the parlour.
Lastly, Dairymaster’s personal approach and accessibility to its customers ensures that its service doesn’t end with the sale.
Indeed, their aftercare service, on-going customer support and constant monitoring of product performance in the marketplace, has given the company an up to the minute understanding of all aspects of the industry as it evolves.
This in-depth industry knowledge has allowed parallel development of products to satisfy dairy farmers’ needs in today’s highly competitive farming environment.
David Parker of Parker Dairy Services, which is located in Oylegate, Co Wexford, is extremely proud to represent this legendary manufacturer and his team of experts are dedicated to providing their customers with sound advice. They understand the needs of the modern dairy farmer and firmly believe that Dairymaster can meet their requirements.
David has 27 years of experience to fall back on in dealing with the dairy industry and the Dairymaster product range in particular. He set up Parker Dairy Services in January, 2000 and currently employs five full-time staff while his wife Sarah is also a company director.
“I come from a farming background and I always had an interest in mechanical work and farming, he revealed. “The change in the industry over the past 20 years has been phenomenal and it’s great to be involved.
“Some farmers have changed their milking parlours three or four times down through the years and I’m now also dealing with their sons. We place a huge emphasis on building up personal relationships with our customers. We cover all of the south east and have approximately 200 loyal customers who have stuck with us.”
In addition to supplying and fitting Dairymaster milking parlours that cater for farmers who wish to get the best milking system available, Parker Dairy Services are also the place to go if you want to source Dairymaster’s large product range which caters for all dairy farming needs.
“The fact is an Irish based company is a big thing,” David answered when asked: what gives Dairymaster the edge over the competition.
“It was started back in the 1960s in Causeway, Co Kerry by Ned Harty. He felt he could do better than the products that were out on the market at that time and Dairymaster, which now employs over 300 people, is an Irish success story.
“There are not too many businesses that operate on a global scale where you can pick up the phone and talk direct to the owner. Be it eight in the morning or eight at night, you’ll get Ned on the end of the phone. Then you have their reliable and efficient products. They are the big selling points.”
Are Parker Dairy’s’ products and services in demand at this point in time? “Since the abolition of the quota we have witnessed a big improvement in business,” David replied. “As a result, we’ve taken on two new employees and put an extra van out on the road.
“As everyone is well aware, the milk price is the big challenge at the moment and when the markets recover I am very optimistic about the future.”
