The highest standards guaranteed when you purchase a Doyle Farm Building

8 Feb , 2022

Doyle Farm Buildings has been a permanent fixture on the South-East’s agricultural landscape for the past 32 years. Managing Director Eamon Doyle informed Irish Tractor & Agri that demand for their services and wide range of associated products is high at the present time.

In fact, so far 2021 has been the “busiest year” that the County Carlow based company has had in “a long time”, according to Eamon.

“We’re very busy,” he added. “People are trying to avail of the grants before they finish up and farming in general is going well. We erected more sheep sheds this year than we did in the last five years combined because the price of sheep is up that little bit. The same goes for the price of cattle and the price of milk, agriculture in general is going good and farmers will spend it when they get it.”

Farmers also recognise quality and durability when they see it and that’s what they get when they purchase a Doyle building. They offer a wide range of farm, industrial and domestic buildings, all of which have been manufactured to the highest standard.

Set up in 1989, Doyle Farm Buildings are specialists in providing all types of agricultural buildings of any size, from Slatted Units to Dairy Units to Milking Parlours to Calf Sheds to Stables, Stores, Garage, All A Frame and Lean To Designs.

Supported in the day-to-day running of the family business by his wife Joanne who looks after the paperwork, Eamon and his team of five employees offer different packages depending on their customers’ requirements – DIY Package (Supply of raw materials), Kit Package (Steel fabricated to specification and all materials supplied to build a shed) and Complete Package (Fabrication, erection and kitting out of a building ready to move in).

“There is a good steady flow on everything at the moment. There is a lot of cubicles and mats on the move and I’m expecting there will be a good demand on slatted rubber this time because of the price of straw,” he revealed.

Another string to Doyle Farm Buildings’ bow is their extensive range of high-quality products at extremely competitive prices. This includes RSJ’s, Angle Iron, Channel Iron, Door Track & Wheels, Shed Timbers, Sheeting, Flashing, Gutters & Fittings, Cleats & Plates, Nuts & Bolts, Tek Screws and MIO Paint.

At Doyle Farm Buildings, they are always happy to go the extra mile to meet their customer’s requirements. They are fully insured, compliant with all Health & Safety regulations; C2 registered and hold a Current Tax Clearance Cert. They are also fully certified and hold a current CE Marking Certificate – EN 1090-1 Execution Class 2.

All work carried out adheres to the Department of Agriculture S101 Standards.

“The bulk of our work at the moment is based around Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford and Waterford. When we’re very busy we get enough local work to keep us going rather than travelling and we’ve built up a lot of repeat customers down through the years. Some yards could have up to six or seven sheds belonging to us at this stage.”

That says a lot about how Doyle Farm Buildings go about their business. “Our customers seem to be happy with the service we provide and we always try to keep the standards as high as possible.

“We try to get it done on time, or as near as possible to time, and deliver the best possible finish, all the little flashings, caps and screws, that combine to make the final look of it. We try to keep the price the best we can.”

The latter objective is proving somewhat difficult these days due to the rise in price of materials across the board…

“It’s a bit mad at the moment,” Eamon acknowledged. “We’re heading for double what we were paying last Christmas for some of the materials out there and more of them are heading that road.

“It’s very awkward pricing work because you give someone a price now and you can really only stand over it for that day. Timber especially is gone through the roof. Everything, even all the small stuff, we’d get in a pallet of bolts and stuff once a month. Normally Є3,500 would cover it, now it is at Є4,000. That is making for awkward times.”

Eamon continued: “If the prices hold where they are we might be okay but if they start going up more, there is work going to be cancelled. Jobs that are not grant approved are being cancelled as it is but anyone getting a grant has to stay going because from the time they get the go ahead they’ve only a year to get the job complete and the paperwork in. If the prices stay going the way they are going, there will be a downfall on the work end of it.”

Provided the price of materials stabilises in the not-too-distant future, Eamon is positive about the future outlook for Doyle Farm Buildings.
