Company MD John Ormonde spoke to Irish Tractor & Agri about the services they provide and why they are the leading firm in their field of expertise for many years now.
“We are an environmental protection company long established in Ireland and we specialise in geosynthetic membranes to protect soil and water. The company works with the highest quality ISO certified material providers and our technicians are all certified by the TSWIP regulating body for welders, while we have multiple crews that operate all over Ireland and most works are completed in 2-3 weeks,” revealed John.
“Our reputation as highly experienced, professional, quality, and cost effective installers has allowed us to hold a respected name in the industry.”
Experience is a key component in the company’s success as that experience frequently allows O&D to save their contractors money and time by using their services.
Many farmers are turning to slurry lagoons to deal with their slurry issues and when it comes to installing these, not many can rival the service provided by O&D Environmental.
There are many advantages to lined lagoons and these include rodent proof , chemical resistant, easily agitated and mixed; more cost effective than other storage methods; safer operation conforms to Department of Agriculture standards, UV Resistant and made to measure.
“A newly built lined lagoon is now eligible to receive full Grant Approval under the TAMS II Grant Schemes. Take advantage of up to 40% reduction in cost this year. With the service we provide, our team are with the customer every step of the way. From providing advice and assistance to prepare drawing and apply for planning permission, we provide the groundworks to expertly prepare and excavate the lagoon to the customers’ specification. Our team then installs the pipe network and inspection manhole. We prepare the sub-grade as specified by our engineer.
“The top bund is then expertly prepared to secure the liner, before our expert welding technicians layout and weld a top quality sealing membrane that carries a 30 year guarantee; providing the customer with a perfect 100% seal.
“We install required concrete agitation pad and safety wheel stop. We can supply 6 foot fencing with gate, tyre ladders and safety signage as required by safety regulations.”
Excavation, ground work, surface preparation, lining agitation pad, safety fence are the five stages of the process, all expertly carried out by the O&D Environmental team.
“We offer the full package and in that respect it is a turnkey service that we provide. We do all the work for the farmer and this means that they don’t have to worry about getting a number of contractors in for the different jobs.”
Nothing but the best of materials are used by the company as everything is ISO 9002 approved as the company understands quality by conformance to requirements and satisfying the needs of their customers.
“Due to our volume, our suppliers are quick to respond to our delivery timeline’s and provide us excellent rates, which we are able to pass on to the customer.”
O&D’s operations team, supervisors and installation crews are well known for the quality and consistency of their jobs. Their considerable experience is why they are frequently the choice of County Councils and the largest contracting firms throughout the country.
