Gerry Duffy Machinery has been supplying Deutz Fahr tractors to customers from its Ashbourne, Co. Meath base for 40 years. The second-generation business is also an agent for SIP grassland equipment, Sulky tillage equipment, SlurryKat slurry equipment, Bunning dung spreaders, MX loaders, Trioliet diet feeders, Verdo seeders, Imants ground care irrigation and Kawasaki RTVs / ATVs.
The former main Deutz Fahr dealer for counties Meath, Louth and north Dublin now provides a nationwide sales, parts and aftersales service for the well-known German brand. Since 2018, the family business has been exporting ex-demo, ex-hire, nearly-new and exceptionally clean Deutz Fahr tractors from mainland Europe to cater for its expanding customer-base.
“If you want a Deutz tractor with low hours and in excellent condition, come to us,” Gerry Duffy Machinery managing director Brian Duffy says.
“With new tractors having become very expensive and not as readily available as they once were, there is an unprecedented demand for quality used models at the moment. We specialise in the sale of ex-demo, ex-hire and high spec Deutz Fahr tractors of all sizes. We cater for everyone from the stockman who’s looking for a 120hp tractor with a front loader to the tillage man who wants a 250hp machine. There is a good demand for all models in the Deutz range.
“While we’re no longer a main dealer, we still offer all the same services, including parts, warranty, aftersales and finance. We’re a one-stop shop for all your Deutz Fahr needs.”
A firm favourite with Irish farmers for decades, the Deutz Fahr range includes tractors from 50hp up to 340hp. Reliable, comfortable and economical, Deutz offers a fantastic range of tractors with options to suit any farm. So whether you need a straightforward machine or a high spec TTV tractor with variable transmission, automatic steering and telematics, Gerry Duffy Machinery has a model to suit.
The Meath-based dealership is committed to providing a professional and value-for-money service to meet the growing requirements of its customers along with knowledge and understanding of the industry that will ultimately benefit them. A comprehensive range of quality used machinery is stocked at all times, with Gerry Duffy Machinery having an excellent reputation for sourcing high-quality used tractors.
“Over the years, we have forged strong relationships with reputable Deutz dealers in Europe. There is a massive market on the Continent for new and old Deutz tractors. They’re as close to bulletproof as you will get,” Brian continues.
“We’ve sold over 30 Deutz tractors to customers from all over Ireland since March. We have held onto the customers we had when we were main dealers as well. We’ve sold a lot of high horsepower 150.7 and 165.7 Agrotrons. TTVs are also very popular, especially with the front loader attached. We’ve sold 6175 and 6185 Warrior limited edition tractors. There is something for everyone in the Deutz range.
“In addition, we can source good quality Same and Lamborghini tractors which are part of the Deutz family. We also specialise in breaking Deutz, Same and Lamborghini tractors and are selling the parts all over Europe. We’re buying more tractors than ever for breaking because of the big savings that are to be had on second-hand parts.
“Furthermore, we always have a good stock of second-hand John Deere, New Holland and other leading tractor brands which are traded in. We provide our own collection and delivery service, and stand over every machine we sell.
“The customer comes first with us and we’re always available to deal with their queries.”
While Gerry Duffy Machinery was set up in 1994 by Brian’s father, Gerry, it previously traded as Kilmoon Agricultural Machinery for many years and has been supplying Deutz Fahr tractors since 1981. Today, the family business has expanded to provide sales and service for Deutz along with the aforementioned SIP grassland equipment, Sulky tillage equipment, SlurryKat slurry equipment, Bunning dung spreaders, MX loaders, Trioliet diet feeders, Verdo seeders, Imants ground care irrigation and Kawasaki RTVs / ATVs.
The dealer’s impressive premises in Kilbrew, Ashbourne – which is only a stone’s throw away from Tayto Park and is close to all major routes – includes a workshop, parts department, office and shop which sells everything from hardware and workwear to power tools.
“We have five people in the workshop, one person in parts and two in the office. Our staff are our greatest asset,” the affable managing director explains.
Gerry Duffy Machinery has a wealth of experience in the agri industry and is dedicated to the supply of quality tractors and farm machinery. Open from 8am to 5pm Monday-Friday and from 9am to 1pm on Saturdays, it has a growing client-base and delivery can be arranged throughout Ireland.
“We pride ourselves on the excellent quality of our machinery, both new and used, and the exceptional service we offer customers. Our product knowledge is second to none,” says Brian, who concludes by thanking his customers and suppliers for their continued support.
