Celebrating 10 years in business in 2025, Plant Services Ireland in Ashbourne, Co. Meath recently announced an exciting new partnership with Anaconda Equipment.
A leading manufacturer of mobile screening and conveying solutions, Anaconda Equipment is a trusted name in the mining, quarrying and material recycling industries. Through this partnership, Plant Services Ireland will offer Anaconda’s full range of cutting-edge products, including mobile screeners, tracked converters and scalping equipment. Designed for materials like aggregates, coal, sand and topsoil, these machines will ensure Plant Services Ireland meets its customers’ diverse needs with top-quality equipment.
Anaconda was formed in 2005 as subcontract specialists before branching into compact contractor-orientated equipment three years later. Renowned for its innovative and durable machines, Anaconda continues to establish itself as a leading supplier of material handling equipment across the globe.
Anaconda’s philosophy from the outset has always been to make life as easy for the end-user as possible. In order to do this, the manufacturer only works with partners that are able to implement its own standards of Global Support, Global Resources and Global Supply Mechanisms. In terms of ensuring the quality of its product range, Anaconda has a bespoke manufacturing facility in Co. Tyrone that is fully kitted with modern state-of-the-art machinery, ensuring a high-quality finish every time.
“We’re delighted to partner with Anaconda,” Plant Services Ireland founder and managing director Brendan Commins enthuses.
“The full range of Anaconda crushers, screeners, scalpers and stackers are now in stock. We also have some second-hand. Anaconda has a great reputation and has something for everyone. We have been taken aback by the interest that has already been shown by quarry and recycling companies in particular. A lot of it has to do with the fact that the machines work on site, thereby reducing carbon emissions and the need for haulage. Anaconda is helping the quarrying and recycling industries to meet their environmental responsibilities.
“As part of the McLanahan Corporation, which is a big name in the US, Anaconda is a sister company of RubbleCrusher whose equipment we also stock. RubbleCrusher offers a range of compact crushing equipment designed to provide a zero-waste solution for the construction and demolition recycling industry. The RubbleCrusher line includes modular skid-mounted Jaw Crushers and trailer-mounted mobile Jaw Crushers for producing material immediately where it has been collected.”
Anaconda entered the market with the J12 Mobile Jaw Crusher and I12 Mobile Impact Crusher machines. The beauty of bringing these high-performance machines to the market is that both rock crushers are capable of using the same chassis structure. The generic-tracked chassis is Cummins engine-powered to ensure maximum power and torque whilst keeping emission levels as low as possible. It is supplied as standard with a 14ft (4.3mtr) variable speed vibrating grizzly feeder, hydraulic hopper wing extensions, an over-band magnet and side discharge dirt belt.
This generic chassis allows for the placement of either crushing chamber, giving the dealer immense flexibility in his rental fleet and the ability to reduce inventory costs. This will increase fleet utilisation by allowing versatility of converting the machine from a Jaw to an Impactor unit and vice versa in minimal time.
The benefit of Anaconda joining the McLanahan family of companies means that both mobile crushers come with Universal Crusher Chambers as standard. McLanahan Corporation has sold over 7,000 Jaw crushers and 1,500 Impact crusher chambers worldwide over the last 130 years. These chambers are household names in the crushing plant industry and help give further credibility to Brendan when introducing this line to his customers.
Anaconda Equipment complements Plant Services Ireland’s existing Zetor, Sunward, Pronar Equipment, Gyru-Star and Faresin dealerships. Zetor has been a legendary tractor manufacturer since 1946 with more than 1.3 million satisfied customers in over 130 countries.
Sunward is a leading name in the field of excavators and plant machinery with key components from brands such as Yanmar and Kubota. Polish brand Pronar manufactures a full range of grassland kit including mowers, rakes, tedders, balers, wrappers and forage wagons, while Gyru-Star’s range of machinery attachments for excavators, skid steers backhoes and mini loaders offer superior technology and quality, providing outstanding performance every time. Faresin Industries designs, manufactures and distributes mixer wagons, ration analysis instruments and telescopic handlers for agriculture and construction.
Joined by a small but dedicated team, Brendan is especially proud of the top-class back-up service his company provides.
“We’ve all the diagnostics for all agri plant, trucks and trailers. We also have a lot of servicing and maintenance service contracts, breakdowns and all that kind of stuff,” the Tipperary native outlines.
“We supply a huge selection of parts and spares and have five vans and a jeep which are on the road 24/7 for us when we need them.”
Brendan’s passion for machinery came from growing up on a farm.
“I was always fixing the farm machinery at home. Then I started working with contractors and ended up repairing their machines. After that, I started getting more and more into the plant side of it and now I’m into the agri side of it again.
“There was always an opening for mechanics with breakdowns from farmers to quarries to contractors, there was a big opening there for somebody that could provide a very good service. So, I decided to set up on my own,” adds Brendan, who played a key role in the installation of the new astroturf pitch at his local GAA club, Kilbride, on the Meath-Dublin border.
As Plant Services Ireland continues to go from strength to strength, Brendan is hoping that his son Andrew will maintain the family’s legacy of excellence and innovation in the plant services industry. The affable managing director would like to take this opportunity to thank his customers and suppliers for their unwavering support as well as his staff for their hard work and expertise.
Here’s to the next 10 years!
