CLAAS JAGUARs accounted for 41 of the 104 foragers that recently set a new World Record for the highest number of self-propelled forage harvesters working in one field, clearing the 40ha field near Trim in Co. Meath in just 5 minutes, 45 seconds.
The foragers, valued at over €30 million and totalling about 65,000hp, arrived from all over Ireland and were supported by 113 tractors and trailers.
The fleet of CLAAS machines ranged from an old 1990 JAGUAR 695SL, through to contractor Tony O’Mahoney’s brand new JAGUAR 970 which cut its first blade of grass at the event.
The ‘Great Grass Event’ raised over €60,000 for charity and was organised by Combines4Charity, who in 2012 set a new World Record for the most combines working in one field, with 208 machines all harvesting at the same time.
