The new addition to the Fendt 300 Vario series – the top-end model Fendt 314 Vario – has even more power with its innovative power-boost concept, DynamicPerformance (DP). The 300-series now features the 12″ terminal, including all the assist systems like Fendt Guide Contour Assistant, SectionControl and VariableRateControl. The new Fendt 314 Vario features the all-new operating concept, FendtONE, and a much bigger display area. The Fendt 314 Vario fulfils the European emission regulations Stage V.
The innovative power-boost concept DynamicPerformance (DP) on the Fendt 314 Vario releases 10 hp more power on-demand, just when it’s needed. It is not tied to driving speeds or special operational tasks, but works purely dynamically.
Typically, the engine power of tractors is distributed across numerous power consumers, such as the PTO, hydraulics, engine fans and air conditioning. The system detects when certain components need more power and then provides more power through smart control.
The DP high performance concept is specially designed for stationary-PTO work on dairy farms and biogas plants – like at the feed mixer or slurry stirrer. And during transport and field work, DynamicPerformance (DP) kicks in where needed by power consumers. The 10 hp added power of the Fendt 314 Vario is great for farms that need a more compact, lightweight and agile tractor, but can can also meet greater power demands when needed.
The Fendt 314 Vario is the first compact tractor to connect the on-board world to the off-board world. FendtONE is the new end-to-end Fendt platform that works in the tractor as well as in the office or wherever you are on your mobile device. With this ubiquitous approach from FendtONE, Fendt is the first manufacturer to combine the familiar terminal-based operation of the tractor with a platform for planning or control tasks that are conventionally done in the office. The interface on the tractor terminal and the online display have a uniform, consistent look and feel, so users can easily find their way around.
With FendtONE, users can plan their orders and field data on a computer or smart device wherever they are, then transfer them to the tractor on the mobile network.
You can use smart farming applications with FendtONE, like the Fendt Guide Sync tracking guide function for managing field data and logging tractor use, and the Fendt Task Manager application for efficient task management. On the FendtONE platform, every customer can find their specific applications and gradually expand their functionalities. It helps the user optimise work processes, get the most out of their machines and comply with legal regulations on documentation. It is very much future-ready.
FendtONE also integrates the agrirouter™ data exchange platform. With this, users can choose the operating system and machine, with open interfaces on which to exchange data between the different systems. Farmers can send field data to contractors, across any make of machine. The agrirouter™ does not store data and farmers themselves choose which data is shared with other systems, meaning Fendt farms always retain full control over their data. The entire process meets the strict regulations of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
When we developed the new operating philosophy on the Fendt 314 Vario, we focused on intuitive and individual operation as well as ergonomics. The new multifunction joystick, for example, has been equipped with added functions and the crossgate lever has been ergonomically optimised, making it easier to operate different attachments. You can choose the allocation of the 5 buttons, to further personalise the controls. The button allocation is set with the Individual Operation Manager (IOM) on the terminal. A clever colour concept helps the driver to quickly find their way around and avoid operator errors. In the IOM you can also reprogram the 19 preset buttons, for functions like pre-activating the steering system (On/Off), the all-round indicator lights (On/Off) and valves.
All functions are divided into different groups with an assigned colour. The driver immediately sees whether buttons have been re-allocated by the colour concept. As well as the well-known crossgate lever, the new 3L joystick with up to 3 operating levels and up to 27 functions is also available as an option. With the 3L joystick, you can control the front loaders Fendt Cargo and Fendt CargoProfi, including a weighing function. In addition to the multifunction lever, the 3L joystick can also be used to control an ISOBUS device and/or tractor functions. If your working day includes frequent changes of direction, the added reverse drive button on the 3L joystick makes your work quicker and fatigue-free.
The increasing number of terminal applications means you need more display room in a tractor. Together with the new operating philosophy, the new Fendt 314 Vario features a combination of 3 display options. These consist of a new 10″ digital steering column display (dashboard), a 12″ terminal on the armrest and an optional 12″ terminal in the sunroof. Up to 6 freely configurable display fields can be shown on the 12″ terminals, while the dashboard terminal displays Fendt Guide features on up to four display fields, as well as all the machine data for road travel. The digital dashboard display is conveniently controlled by a pushdial on the armrest.
The 12″ terminals can also be operated via touch, for easier control. The 12″ roof terminal can be slotted half-way into the sunroof for a better overview when out on the road. Applications such as air conditioning and infotainment will continue to be displayed on the lower, visible half of the terminal.
With the 3 terminals together, drivers can customise the display areas and get a better overview of the variety of functions.
