Delaval are the world leader in Dairy Equipment Technology, Service and Innovation and the team at William Scanlan DairyTech are proud to bring this global brand to the farms of Waterford.

Coupled with the growth of their Dairy Technology business to farmers, they are establishing themselves as a leading service provider to food processing companies around Ireland where their team provide technical service and support on site to processing equipment twenty four hours a day, seven days a week.

Their extensive product range includes parlour & robot milking systems, herd management systems; automatic scraper systems; calf feeding systems; cow cubicle and matting and animal handling facilities.

The voice of the customer is key to their business as they aim to deliver a world class product, unrivalled service, and professional technical support to all their customers from farm gate to fork.

“My father William started installing and fitting for DeLaval, on behalf of Dungarvan Co-Op, back in 1969,” answered director Richard Scanlan, who joined the family-run concern last September, when asked to trace the company’s roots. “In the early eighties he set up his own business and took over the DeLaval agency in the Waterford.

“The back-up service and quality of machines is what separates DeLaval from its competitors. Also, from our point of view, we listen to what our customers have to say. The voice of our customers is crucial to our business and, as a result, we’re the market leader in our area.”

Not content to rest on their laurels, Richard & Co have undertaken ambitious expansion plans in recent times.

“We’re a growing business and have a business strategy in place. We moved into new premises last December and we’ve also added to our fleet in the last 12 months – we now have five vans on the road. We’re in a strong position of growth and that is based around servicing our customers as best as we can.”

You can rely on William Scanlan DairyTech for efficient and dedicated professional service because their team of eight employees has almost 50 years experience in installing, servicing and providing technical support on dairy equipment to suit all their customer demands.

Regular scheduled service is the best way to maintain reliability, improve efficiency, and reduce the risk and cost of any emergencies. Regular testing and maintenance will help to ensure peak system performance, extend its lifetime, and minimize equipment down time.

Their service engineers ensure that your milking equipment is operating optimally at correct vacuum and pulsation.

The DeLaval VPR 200 is the key to preventive maintenance, which means few equipment failures. It also measures work time, routines and cow flow and can provide detailed reports that help optimise operations and monitor equipment.

“Along with William, there are two guys, Harry O’Keeffe (service) and Richie Kiely (installation) who have been with the company from day one,” Richard explained.

“Sheila Denn, who looks after accounts, is another long serving member of our staff and their combined experience counts for a lot. We’ve been fortunate to have a large number of loyal customers down through the years and today we find ourselves dealing fourth generation farmers now.”
