CLAAS Invests in Tyre Pressure Control Technology

9 Nov , 2017

CLAAS has taken over the tyre pressure control technology developed by R&M Landtechniksysteme. In future, CLAAS Industrietechnik based in Paderborn will manage and develop the systems previously manufactured by the tyre pressure experts from Möhnesee in North Rhine-Westphalia.  The parties have agreed not to discuss the contractual details.

Practical Solutions
The R&M technology will make CLAAS Industrietechnik a specialist for tyre pressure control systems, adding a one-stop solution for tractors, trailers and other agricultural vehicles to the portfolio. Apart from control technology, the package includes rotary transmitters and extremely high-performance air compressor units. Users will therefore be able to switch the tractor and trailer quickly from field to road pressure, making the systems ideal for uses involving a frequent change in tyre pressure, including the transport of silage or manure. Pressure is measured and controlled individually for each tyre. The complete valve technology is installed in the tractor to allow easy combination with several mounted devices.Innovative Operating Concept
An innovative app is used to operate the system. Drivers can save a number of profiles for different combinations of tractor and mounted equipment. The required pressures for field and road are entered just once and then saved. Individual measurement for each wheel enables precise adjustment of the tyre pressure, for instance on just one side when traversing a slope.

Full Service to Protect the Soil
‘The outstanding solutions by R&M are the perfect addition to our product range. Besides the TERRA TRAC running gear, we now offer professional equipment that allows wheeled machines to protect the soil,’ says Dr Thomas Lorf, Managing Director at CLAAS Industrietechnik GmbH. The tyre pressure control technology is now available as a retrofit solution.
