Naas Farm Machinery is a one-stop shop for all your tractor and farm machinery requirements, being a main dealer for Deutz-Fahr, Kuhn, Hardi, Fleming, Strautmann, Bomford and other leading brands.
Established in 1986 by the late George Delahunt, the family business is now run by his sons Donal and Gary who are supported by a 10-strong team of mechanics, stores and parts personnel. Strategically located in Maudlins Industrial Estate, Naas, the Co. Kildare company is a premier supplier of new and used tractors and agricultural machinery, providing unbeatable products and customer service to customers nationwide.
“Our goal is to provide a professional, friendly and value-for-money service to meet the growing requirements of our customers along with knowledge and understanding of the industry that will ultimately benefit them,” Donal Delahunt says.
“Our yard is stocked with a comprehensive range of new and used machinery at all times. We also have a large workshop for maintenance and repairs along with an extensive stores and parts department. We have a fantastic, loyal team who are here to look after all your sales, service and parts needs.”
As main dealers for Deutz, Kuhn, Fleming, Hardi, Strautmann, Bomford, Wessex, Malone and Odon, Naas Farm Machinery covers everything from tractors, balers, trailers, agitators, mowers, spreaders, harrows and bale handlers to tankers, sprayers, ploughs, scrapers, toppers, hedge cutters, land levellers, grabs, buckets, silage feeders, post drivers and more.
“We cater for every requirement from the landscaper, small farmer and equine man up to the large contractor. We have something for everyone and to suit all budgets and needs. Whether it’s new or used, we have the right machine for you.”
As new tractor prices continue to sky-rocket, more and more farmers and contractors are turning to the second-hand market in their search for a value-for-money alternative. And they don’t have to look any further than Naas Farm Machinery for used tractors of the highest quality. The garage has a stellar reputation for sourcing all makes with low hours and which are in great condition.
“There’s always a big demand for good second-hand tractors, and that’s where we can help,” Donal continues.
“We source ours mainly from Holland, but also occasionally from Poland, Germany and Belgium. Since 1999, we have been sourcing tractors from the same reputable dealer in Holland who has a proven track record of sending over top-quality machines.
“Such is the relationship and level of trust we have built up with him that we can take his word on the quality of a tractor without needing to see it. We know what we’re getting. Generally speaking, the tractors on the Continent are well looked after. The better climate lends itself to that. We can source all makes and sizes, all with low genuine hours, from a collector’s item Massey 165 up to contractor’s spec, and everything in between.
“All our stock is HPI-checked for customer peace of mind and protection. We stand over everything we sell. We pride ourselves on the excellent quality of our machinery and the exceptional service we offer customers. Our product knowledge is second to none.”
There is also strong demand for new Deutz-Fahr tractors, which Naas Farm Machinery have been main dealers for since its inception. The 5 and 6 series are popular with customers, especially the 5 series, which ranges from 95-126hp. Thanks to its unique features package, including the electro-hydraulic control for 4WD, differential lock, 4-speed PTO, hydraulic system of 90 l/min flow with up to eight rear outlets, HML transmission with Automatic Powershift (APS), underdrive and creeper, and large tyre combination with fixed or adjustable rims, the 5 Series works perfectly everywhere.
“The 5 Series is our bread and butter. The tractors in this range are ideal for dairy farmers, stockmen and the equine sector. There is a new range of 5 Series on the way which are not as highly spec’d, but are a more affordable 100hp tractor. A lot of people are coming back to Deutz which is great to see,” Donal enthuses.
Asked what has been the secret to Naas Farm Machinery’s longevity and success, the affable dealer replies: Since we are a family business, we are strong on honesty and loyalty, while service has always been a big priority. We’re always on the other end of the phone and we’ve always provided the highest standards when it comes to customer care. When discussing any of the machines with farmers, we are open and honest and fair. We’ll tell them the truth no matter what.
“As well as farm machinery and tools, we have very large stores covering everything and they have come along in leaps and bounds in the last few years, with everything from landscaping to the hobby farmer to the man living in a housing estate who just wants to tidy up around his property. We’re competing with garden centres in that respect.
“All our new tractors and grass care equipment come with a number of options and variations, and we also stock parts for all brands of tractors. We have a strong presence online which helps to drive business.”
Proud sponsors of the Ardclough senior hurling team, Naas Farm Machinery’s opening hours are 9am to 5.30pm Monday-Friday and 9am to 1pm on Saturdays. As their business continues to go from strength to strength, the Delahunt family would like to take this opportunity to thank their customers and suppliers for their continued support as well as their top-class team for their hard work, dedication and expertise.
