As a John Deere dealer, Hanlon Machinery of Dundalk offer the highest levels of service and expertise whether you are looking to buy a new tractor or maintain your current one.
Not known for resting on their laurels, they recently took on a second dealership in Donabate and Sales Manager Oisin Hanlon is upbeat about the future.
John Deere is very selective when choosing their dealers. They must totally support John Deere core values of integrity, quality, commitment, and innovation.
Hanlon Machinery ticked all those boxes which explains why they were invited to take over the John Deere dealership in North County Dublin from July 2012.
Established in 1981 in Dundalk by Michael Hanlon, Hanlon Machinery has built up a reputation with their extensive customer base as hard-working, dedicated and reliable John Deere dealer.
They have brought the same approach to their Donabate operation and it has been a case of so far so good according to Michael’s son Oisin who works as Sales Manager in the family business.
“It has taken a lot of hard work to establish ourselves in the area with our new customers but our reputation has served us well and we have received their full support,” Oisin revealed.
“We’ve enjoyed success in selling new products in the area while our workshop has exceeded our customers’ expectations with the excellent level of service.
“Our aim is to build on our strong reputation and long established relationships with our customers in Louth and build new relationships with our new customers in Donabate.”
Hanlon Machinery stock a full range of new John Deere equipment and non John Deere machinery including Overum Ploughs, JF Silage Harvesters, Sulky Fertilizer Spreaders, HE-VA Tillage equipment and Fella Grass Equipment such as Mowers, Rakes and Tedders.
In addition, they carry an extensive range of genuine John Deere spare parts which are competitively priced, as well as the full range of John Deere merchandise.
Adding the Donabate string to their bow is a continuation of a programme of expansion they have undertaken in recent times.
For example, they have made improvements to their Dundalk premises such as a new showroom and their workshop underwent a complete overhaul.
These improvements will help them to provide their customers with improved support over the coming years.
Their dealerships in Dundalk and Donabate showcases the latest in the extensive John Deere product range and Oisin didn’t have to think too long and hard when asked the question: what are the key selling points of the iconic brand?
“Quality production, reliability, unique features that are of benefit to operators and farmers and unrivalled support,” was the reply that rolled of his tongue.
It also goes without saying, of course, that John Deere is one of the most recognised and trusted brand names in much of the world, especially in countries rooted in production agriculture.
A family-run business, Hanlon Machinery has to a total of 16 on its payroll including Oisin’s mother; Claire and sister; Michelle.
When it comes to servicing your machine it makes sense to only use genuine maintenance parts and lubricants which are designed and approved by John Deere.
Regular maintenance saves money too and Hanlon Machinery guarantee that you and your machine won’t be idle for too long.
“We use the latest technology to diagnose problems with tractors and get our customers back to work as quickly as possible,” Oisin pointed out.
“We pride ourselves on being innovative with the latest trends and quick to adapt to the latest trends in the market and our customers needs.”
As with practically all businesses in Ireland, Hanlon Machinery wasn’t immune to the negative repercussions of the economic downturn but they lived to tell the tale and Oisin is optimistic about the future outlook for the company.
He acknowledges that it is not all plain sailing but has confidence in their product range and services.
“There are challenges as with most businesses. Cash flow is a factor that needs to be considered but we have a good working relationship with our customers who are satisfied with the excellent service they receive and tend to pay punctually as a result.
“The cost of machinery is growing year on year but we are selling products with the latest in technology which are more productive than their predecessors. In our opinion, this explains the increase in price.
“Moving forward our hopes would be to increase our levels of turnover and levels of customer satisfaction.”
