Synonymous with farm machinery for almost 40 years

9 Jun , 2020

The Ryall name has been synonymous with farm machinery sales and servicing in Cork and surrounding counties for nearly 40 years. Based in Watergrasshill, Ryall’s Farm & Industrial Equipment continues to go from strength to strength by providing top-quality products and unrivalled customer service.

Founded by Robert Ryall in 1981, the company has the distinction of being the long-established Landini dealership in the country. Ryall’s have been flying the flag for the Argo Tractors marque for nearly 30 years and has also been main dealer in Cork for McCormick tractors since 2003. In addition, the family business is an agent for Major slurry tankers and grass toppers, Tanco bale wrappers and implements, Maschio flail mowers, harrows and seed drills, Talex rotary mowers, Mecc Alte PTO generators, A Wilson Engineering bale transporters and Malone farm machinery, which is its newest dealership.

“The brands we represent are perfectly suited to Irish conditions and boast excellent design and build quality,” explains Trevor Ryall, who runs the business along with his aforementioned father Robert.

“We’re the oldest and one of the biggest Landini dealerships in the country and the success we’ve had with them has enabled us to expand our brand and product range. We also stock a wide range of second hand tractors and farm machinery, and insist on quality trade-ins. We provide an excellent aftersales service and stock parts for all the machines we sell.

“We pride ourselves on our exceptional customer service and competitive prices. We have 11 highly-qualified and experienced staff who always put the customer first.”

The new Landini 6H and 5 Series, for which 0% finance is available, have proven to be a big hit with dairy and beef farmers in Ryall’s catchment area. The 6H Series is the ideal solution for soil preparation, sowing, forage and haymaking. There is a range of three models featuring from 110hp to 126hp, with a choice among different types of transmission from 12+12 up to 48+16 with HML. The cab in pure automotive style offers excellent visibility and ergonomic controls for an extremely comfortable working environment. Landini 6H tractors are perfectly suited to the needs of medium-sized farms that prefer to work mainly with their own resources without having to invest too much in machinery.

Besides possessing a sturdy structure, these tractors can be customised to suit the needs of each individual farm. The ability to fit 38” rear wheels (width 540mm) and the two-point cab suspensions add to the versatility of these tractors, which are already designed to mount the innovative ISOBUS and satellite steering systems. Lastly, leading-edge solutions for road transport are certainly not lacking thanks to the availability of a hydraulic trailer braking system.

The Landini 6H and loader stocked by Ryall’s Farm & Industrial Equipment is a new design that features the same 36×12, three-speed powershift transmission as the larger 6C, but in a more compact package with power outputs of 110hp, 119hp and 126hp.

The 5 Series is another three-model range at 99hp, 107hp and 113hp with a new 24×24 transmission featuring two-speed powershift and synchro or power shuttle likely to be favoured for loader work. The standard transmission package for the series is a 40km/h synchro shuttle with 12 speeds in either direction (12+12). You can also opt for a Hi-Lo Power Four, a power shuttle, an HML T-Tronic powershift and a mechanical or hydraulic reverse shuttle. The power shuttle gives you left-hand fingertip control over direction and a modulated wet clutch with adjustable take-up.

From the same Argo stable as Landini, McCormick tractors are manufactured and designed mostly with the needs of agricultural contractors and tillage farmers in mind. The McCormick X7 Series, which ranges from 205hp to 225hp, has been attracting a lot of attention at Ryall’s with the X7660 and X7670VT models being best sellers.

There is a trio of four-cylinder models in the X7 Series with engine outputs from 141-176hp, a choice of P6-Drive powershift and VT-Drive stepless transmissions, and (with P6-Drive) a choice of Efficient or more advanced Premium specifications.

ISOBUS implement control for the optional 12-inch touch-operated Data Screen Manager display and Topcon Agriculture precision farming technologies can be added to the tractors’ comprehensive equipment list.

“Despite the continued uncertainty surrounding Brexit, sales of new Landini and McCormick tractors have been brisk,” Trevor reports.

“All our brands are performing well. We’ve sold a large number of Mecc Alte PTO generators, while Major dribble bars and trailing shoes are selling like hotcakes thanks to the TAMS II slurry equipment grant. Business is going well overall.”

In 2004, the Ryall’s added another string to their bow with the launch of Ryall’s Hire to provide quality equipment hire to both the agri and construction sectors. Ryall’s are now one of the premier hire companies in Cork, with equipment hired to every major civil engineering and construction project in the area as well as all over Ireland and the UK.

Trevor concludes by saying: “We would like to take this opportunity to thank our customers for their support, and look forward to continuing to serve their needs for many more years to come.”
