Business is “absolutely flying” at Ballyhea Tyres Service

26 Feb , 2019

Ballyhea Tyres Service in Co Cork has become renowned for its excellent service amongst its clients all over the Munster region. Irish Tractor & Agri heard all about the thriving company from its motivated Managing Director, Janmusz Adamowski.

Ballyhea Tyres Service has earned quite a reputation for itself over the past decade or so and the plan for its owner and founder, Janmusz Adamowski, is to continue to stay busy with his customers all throughout Munster

Nestled nicely right along the Golden Vale in Charleville, Ballyhea Tyres Service lays perfectly along the Cork-Limerick border and, as Janmusz himself describes it, business is “absolutely flying” at the minute.

A native of Poland, Janmusz moved to Ireland 14 years ago in search of work and found it practically immediately as a qualified welder before taking the decision to start up his own business venture.

Hard work and some good fortune combined had meant that he hasn’t had to look back since…

“I started this business 12 years ago and right now I have three men working with me,” Janmusz explained.

“We are based in Charleville, Co Cork and we have three vans on the road. My wife Margaret has a business herself but I’d like to say that she helped out a lot when I first started here.”

Behind every good man is a good woman and Margaret Adamowski was very much part of laying the foundations for the successful state Ballyhea Tyres Service finds itself in today.

Today, Janmusz knows his customers’ routes like the back of his hand and relies a lot on repeat business to ensure his company stay in the black year in, year out.

He explained a bit about his initial move to this country, as well as what it takes to work for Ballyhea Tyres Service.

“I am Polish and came to Ireland in 2004 looking for a job,” said Janmusz. “I started working for two guys and after that finished I decided to start up on my own. I’m a fully qualified welder, so I knew that there was something out there for me.

“Now I do trucks, single axle trucks, two axle trucks, hydraulic trucks, re-spraying, painting and sandblasting too. You need to have talent for this job. You can’t just show up to change the tyre.”

Ballyhea Tyres Service has certainly earned its reputation for efficiency at a low-cost, having grown from the ground up.

The men Janmusz has working for him are very professional and it’s no coincidence that they have a packed schedule at the moment with jobs all over Cork and Limerick.

For Janmusz, it was the plan when he first took the decision to go out on his own. Now, 12 years on, he’s running a thriving business while fully enjoying the services he provides his clients.

“I’m absolutely flying. I’m very busy here right now and we are doing 24-hour breakdown and hydraulic work all over,” he said.

“I go everywhere – all over Limerick and Cork. My garage is exactly halfway between Limerick and Cork, so I cover both and we’d be going to Kanturk and Newmarket also. It’s a good enough size area that we do, depending on where the work is.”

One thing that is for certain is that Ballyhea Tyres Service will get the distance covered for their customers where ever they are.

At the moment, Janmusz has three vans on the road full-time to service his customers.”

He outlined that he always buys locally as he feels it’s vital to keep business within the community.

“We have three Ford Transits here. They are very well kept,” said Janmusz.

“We buy them from Cavanagh’s Ford Charleville – I always do business with the local people, its very important. I’d like to say thank you to our customers for their continued support over the years.”

That support has been imperative for the success of Ballyhea Tyres Service and will continue to be into the future as the company continues to raise its high standards.

Trucks and tractors will always need the services that Ballyhea Tyres Service offer and they’re services that are available all year round from Janmusz and his team.

The fact that they also offer tracking for trucks puts them ahead of other competitors out there as well, according to Janmusz.

“Like I said, business is good and we will want to keep it that way. We’ve had a good year in 2018 and again I want to thank our customers for sticking us,” he beamed.

“We get repeat business all the time and I think it’s because of the different services that we have. Not many people do the tracking for truck but I do it for the single and double axle trucks. I do the same for heavy machinery also and I use very good equipment.”

It’s hard to substitute for great equipment and the right personnel to operate it. Ballyhea Tyres Service has both…

As for the vans they have on the road, they’re in mint condition and while it’s tempting for Janmusz to add a couple more to the fleet, the motivated self-starter says he won’t be doing so.

“Three vans is enough for us. How big you are in a business is not life,” said the Polish native.

“Big business means big expenses and small businesses are more easy to control. We may add a small van soon enough to deal with lorry breakdowns but, for now, we’re happy with two vans here.”
