“We specialise in sales and repair of new and second-hand Massy Fergusons and new farm machinery and spare parts,” explained Adrian Lunney.
Massey Ferguson is a true global brand with machines operating all over the world, from revolutionary “little grey fergie” tractors to the latest high-tech tractors and combines.

Behind every Massey Ferguson machine is the powerful after-sales support of the individual dealers.

“Massey Ferguson have a deserved reputation for being reliable, compact and hardy built tractors, designed to a high spec and modern looking.

“Massey Ferguson has stood the test of time and, as far as we are concerned, there’s no other tractor that can come close to a Massey Ferguson tractor.”

At Lunney Tractors, their main aim is to ensure that every machine – old and new – is fully supported to provide every Massey Ferguson owner with the best service in the industry not to mention low cost of ownership, a reliable and durable machine, minimum machine downtime and a high resale value.

Whatever the age of Massey Ferguson machine, Lunney Tractors has the right after-sales solution to save time and money.

With after-sales support from Lunney Tractors, it’s not just about supplying a filter or doing an oil change, it’s about providing the best solution to their customers needs wrapped up with industry leading parts and service support.

“We pride ourselves on good service and reliable machines,” Adrian added. “We’re always willing to help the customer where we can. Farmers can’t afford to be idle so we try to get them back to work as soon as possible.”

The importance of reputation can’t be over-estimated in the tractor sales market and Adrian identified the loyal customer support they receive from the local farming community as a vital ingredient in their winning formula.

“We’re fortunate in that we enjoy a lot of repeat business and we have second and third generation customers doing business with us now which is as good an indicator that we, as a business, can get that we have a lot of satisfied customers.”

A member of the Farm Tractor & Machinery Trade Association, Lunney Tractors currently employs five while they have more than one string to their bow as they are also main dealers for Welger Lely, Vicon and Taarup Kverneland machinery.

So how is business going at this point in time?

“Overall sales are holding steady, we have seen a big increase in the sale of mowers, due to the good weather” replied Adrian. “Second-hand sales are going well as people can get value for money in quality used machinery.

“There are a lot of farmers out there who are scared that they’re going to be hit with big bills for meal and fodder so they’re keeping a close eye on their finances. The price of beef isn’t helping either as there are mainly beef farmers in our catchment area.

“The challenges we face are the price of beef and the worry that milk prices will take a drop. Farmers are still finding it difficult to arrange finance with the banks. We are lucky that we have a good relationship with Agco finance who can provide competitive rates for our customers.

“Weather, as always, is the biggest influence, as this year has shown but we’re optimistic about the future because farming is the back bone of this country, producing quality product for the public.”
